Central Florida Coming To Town

After handling Alcorn State 52-0, Central Florida will be a major step up in competition this weekend. The Knights will bring a power running game designed to wear down defenses, eat up clock and let their defense do the rest. Almost sounds like Southern Miss football of the 90's. The Golden Eagle front seven needs to step up and hold back the Central Florida backfield.

At his weekly press conference, Larry Fedora addressed what the Golden Eagles can expect. “Basically all we have to go on right now is the first game from last week, because they have a new offensive coordinator. All the things we did in the summer we just kind of throw out the window because they are not what they were last year.”

He continued, “They gave it to the big back quite a few times, over 30 (carries), which is back to running the football and eating the clock, taking care of the football and winning with defense.”

Central Florida enters the contest 1-0 after a 28-24 victory over Samford.

In the end, the potent Southern Miss offense should be able to handle the Knights.

Injury Update
Most of the knicked and bruised players wearing red jerseys this week are expected to play this weekend. The big question is the status of All-American wide receiver DeAndre Brown. "DeAndre looked good today and did not have any problems so we will see at the end of the week where he is at," Fedora said.
