More details are starting to become clear regarding the renewal of the Mississippi State and Southern Miss football series. Those hoping the series will begin next year may be disappointed, as it is looking like the first game of the series will not be until 2014. More details will be available at noon tomorrow at the press conference being held at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in Jackson.
Speaking of future schedules, we are two months away from the beginning of basketball season and Southern Miss fans have not seen a schedule yet. This must mean another weak home basketball schedule filled with NAIA opponents. If the athletic department is facing budgetary problems, a good way to earn some cash would be to have a good out of conference home basketball schedule. Fans, diehards or casual, will not spend money to watch Spring Hill, William Carey, etc. Getting to the post season wouldn't hurt either.
