With 29 points and 11 rebounds from Maurice Bolden, Southern Miss proved to be too much for Loyola New Orleans with a 73-62 victory at Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
The Golden Eagles went into halftime leading 42-35, behind 23 first half points from Bolden.
Loyola (3-0), an NAIA school, considered the contest to be an exhibition game.
Southern Miss (2-0) hits the road to take on Montana State on Saturday.
Side note for John Cox, Southern Miss played Loyola (pronounced like toy-ola) tonight, not LIE-ola.
