Future Schedule Update: Southern Miss To Play South Carolina in 2010

Southern Miss athletic director Richard Giannini announced today that Southern Miss will travel to Columbia, SC to open the 2010 season against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The game will be the first television broadcast of the the season on Thursday, September 2. The game will be televised by ESPN. USM will receive $900,000 for the game.

The Golden Eagles were originally scheduled to play Southeastern Louisiana on the same weekend, but are in talks to move the game to a later date during the season or to another year.

Southern Miss also announced a schedule change for 2010, moving its scheduled 2010 game with LSU to the 2011 season at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on November 12. This was made possible by moving the Tennessee game from the 2011 to 2017 season.
